The Future of Mobiles

February 12th, 2009 | No Comments

Take a look at this. It’s a new mobile phone by a company called Modu. The guy who created the company also invented the USB flash drive.

The whole concept revolves around a small, fully functioning cellphone that you can then place inside a “jacket”. This “jacket” is basically another form factor cellphone.  Lets say you have a bulky QWERTY phone for work, a slim shuffle-like mp3 player for the gym afterwards and a sleek and shiny red phone for going out for drinks later. This phone very well could be the future. I see it really taking on off in Japan at the very least.

Everybody buys what they want at the time but what if you could easily change it? There are so many possibilities and it doesn’t necessarily have to be other cellphone “jackets”. They have plans for other consumer electronic devices that integrate with the Modu as well.
