is not what the governor of Georgia would like you to believe we are in. In reality, we truly are. In my part of town, there are dozens of gas stations EMPTY. No gas. I was over an hour late to work today trying to find gas, got there, waited in line, found out I left my debit card back home, drove back and waited in an even longer line! The pumps were going SO slow some people had to wait 20 minutes to fill up their tank. It was a nightmare. You never think this is going to happen to you but when it does, it’s really terrible. I don’t know why people aren’t up in arms about it. What made it all the more worse is that the area of Atlanta uses a special additive in the fuel which makes it burn much cleaner. This is an additional process so we had to get the EPA to get us dirtier-burning fuel so that we could actually have some gas.
OY.

Ok, so continuing with the obsession that I have for Lady GaGa I’m linking and quoting some interviews.
Here’s an excerpt from NewNowNext:
I saw the music video more recently… What was your concept going in?
I absolutely wanted it to be a reflection of my lifestyle – but through a more pop lens. That’s sort of my whole idea: I really want to filter all of my ideas through a pop, commercial lens in order to reach more people – and kind of make a contribution, you know? And for this video, I wanted it to be a house party instead of just doing a typical night club video, which is I think what one might expect from hearing the song. So I wanted to give something that was a bit of a contrast and said something about me and included some of my iconic references – and was also just a really good video that kept it about the song. The world that I live in, it’s run by music and art and fashion, and this idea of The Fame - it’s something that comes from within. It’s not because you’re a celebrity or because the media is following you or you have the paparazzi on your coattails; it’s a self-proclaimed, inner-confidence and sense of self – and passion about something, no matter what it is. It doesn’t have to be music or fashion. It could be, you know … fishing.
I love how she describes her music and inspiration and how she wants the listener to take away that feeling. She wants to share it. That’s what music is all about. Being able to share sounds, beats and ideas that someone else has never heard before. Something unique.
In response to a question about bridging the gap between urban music and dance she responds on About.com:
Lady Gaga: Oh, I actually wouldn’t consider myself a dance artist. I think I’m bridging the gap in a few different ways, and it’s mostly from a music conceptual standpoint, mixing the dance beats one second. Mixing retro dance beats with more urban melodies, and a certainly pop chorus. It’s really about, in a very methodic way, almost choosing exactly what pieces of what I want to have in the record, and then watching it cross over, with my fingers crossed.
Ugh. I love it. If you watch her perform you’ll totally understand she’s all about performance art and combining that with her music.

for Lady GaGa! So I got my hands on her upcoming debut album, “The Fame” and I can’t describe to you how much I LOVE it. It’s amazing. Genius. Beautiful. Really, truly. Just what I need! I fully intend on purchasing the entire album as soon as it becomes available. October 7th. Can’t wait. In the mean time, you can do a search on youtube for the songs and listen to them. If you check out my last.fm you’ll see it’s all I’m listening to.

UPDATE: Blasted it in the car the whole way to work this morning. Too good.

Or are we denser?
Listen to The Killers new song “Human” from their album “Day & Age” which comes out in November. I am a huge fan of The Killers but their second album, which some call a b-sides album, really disappointed me. You can’t have an amazing rock-infused pop/dance album and follow it up with “Sam’s Town”. No. You can’t do that. I felt alienated as a fan. Their songs bring back some really strong memories of my freshman year in college and especially of the fall/winter. It’s truly nostaligc and I’m really excited about this new album. Stuart Price who worked on Madonna’s album “Confessions on a Dancefloor” produced for this new album as well.

Alright, well I haven’t updated like I said I was going to but oh well. Sue me. Shoot me. People lie all the time, right? No biggie. I don’t know what it is but I’m so lazy when it comes to writing. Now that I’m officially done with school and have officially graduated, I have a little more time to do the things that I enjoy. Tonight I will most likely port this blog over to my domain that I’ve had dormant for awhile. We’ll see. All done.
